Study trips

Every year, INET offers a training course for the general managers and deputy general managers of French local authorities. As part of this course, the participants take a week-long study trip abroad. They visit various institutions, administrations and professional networks in the country and make contact with their foreign counterparts.

The aim of this study trip is to take a “step sideways” and discover new methods of regional governance and new ways of managing public policy. Afterwards, the participants publish a synthesis summarising the lessons learnt on the study trip.

Please find below the syntheses of the study trips taken from 2015 to 2019, in Sweden, Finland, Italy, the Netherlands and Denmark.

You may also find here further studies on local authorities in Belgium and Norway, only available in French.
